Faith Seeking Journey

Learn and Grow in the episcopal Faith

Sunday mornings join Rev. Mark Meyer for lessons and discussion on the history, theology, prayer, and practices of the Episcopal tradition. Whether you’re new to the church, or a lifelong member, this is a course for everyone.

  • September 27 - May 23, 8:00am: The series is broken into sections, based on the liturgical season. We hope you’ll join for the whole journey, but understand if you can make it for a period.

Building Community: Creating Connection Beyond Our Walls

Through the program year, we will be holding presentations and conversations with Episcopal and municipal resources in our community. The goal is to learn, inspire, and build bridges within our church and town.

  • September 24th, 5:30-6:30pm, we welcome our first Building Community speaker - Canon Greg Foraker, on the topic: How can we become… an even more welcoming community?

    • Join Canon Greg for a time of reflection and conversation on what it means for St. Mathew’s to become an even more welcoming church, especially to the LGBTQIA+ members and visitors. He will invite us to review our journey of greater welcoming and inclusion so far and listen with us for the next steps where the Spirit is calling our community. Greg serves Bishop Kym Lucas as Canon for Formation and Pastoral Care for the Episcopal Church in Colorado.

  • October 21, 5:30-6:30pm, Bryce Matthews, Assistant Director of Planning for the Town of Parker will join us to talk about developments on Mainstreet and Downtown.

Events Calendar

  • On Mondays at noon we sit for a period of lightly guided mindfulness, followed by a brief reading and discussion. Currently we are working our way through Ladder to the Light by Steven Charleston. All are welcome, regardless of spiritual background or mindfulness experience.

  • Saturday mornings from 8:30 - 10:00 am we meet for time in contemplative prayer. We frequently read a book together or use prayers from various sources to inspire conversation about our life of faith.

  • f you are interested in how you can help during our church services by serving behind the communion rail, this ministry is for you! Periodic trainings are held for Intercessors and Chalice Ministers throughout the year.

  • Are you interested in being Baptized or Confirmed in the Episcopal Church? We’d love to be part of your journey!

    Baptism is one of the two great sacraments of the Gospel (the other is the Eucharist we celebrate on Sundays). It is the sacrament by which God adopts us as his children and makes us Members of Christ’s Body, the Church. If you have never been Baptized, our Priest would be most happy to help you prepare.

    Confirmation is a rite in which we express a mature commitment to Christ. If you’d like to be confirmed in the Episcopal Church, or if you’ve already been confirmed elsewhere and would like to be received formally by our Bishop, let our Priest know! We can help prepare you in time for the next visit from our Bishop.
