Acolytes lead the procession by carrying the cross and assist with the offertory and communion.

Chalice Ministers assist the clergy with the flow of the service, they offer the first reading, and serve the consecrated wine during communion.

Readers and Intercessors read the lessons and the lead the Prayers of the People.

Ushers greet folks as they come in our doors, hand out programs, welcome visitors, and facilitate during communion.

Ushering is a ministry that provides connection and belonging. It is an essential way our community practices Jesus’ hospitality.

The Altar Guild is a volunteer group of parishioners whose ministry is to beautify the worship space so everyone may be drawn into God’s presence with us. We provide care for the altar, vestments, vessels, and altar linens of the parish.
We love to have new people join us! A willing heart is all that is required.

The Flower Guild provides the stunning flowers and arrangements that beautify our worship space. They also host periodic flower arrangement classes, and help bring beauty to our church for special events.

The Fellowship Committee promotes celebration and socializing to build friendships in community. The Hospitality Committee hosts coffee hour, as well as receptions, and other social events, attempting to provide a friendly, welcoming environment for all parishioners and guests.

Our livestream is a vital way people stay connected with St. Matthew’s.

The AV team sets up the stream and oversees the feed.

We also use a screen for displaying prayers and readings. We rely on volunteers to click through the slides and help folks follow along with the service.

Trained and licensed Lay Eucharistic Visitors bring consecrated elements and companionship to people in our community unable to join us in person.

Helping Hands is a pastoral care team that offers support for those needing care. People volunteer to bring meals, clean up lawns and snow, assist with daily tasks.

Patti Kane organizes those who need support with those who can offer help.

Prayers and Squares is a beloved tradition at St. Matt’s bringing comfort and prayers to people when they need it most. This is a sewing group that makes prayer quilts requested by parishioners for members of our community. These quilts are given to those that are ill or in distress to wrap themselves in prayer. The quilts are blessed and tied together by all during our Sunday worship, so that we all become a part of this ministry.

The Buildings and Grounds Committee works with our Junior Wardens to coordinate and supervise work on our campus and help to make sure that our buildings are safe and comfortable. They maintain a big picture perspective to care for our campus for generations.
