Who We Are

At St. Matthew’s we believe every person is a beloved child of God. God calls us to love first so that the love we nurture here can bless lives, foster belonging, and reflect God’s hope in the world.

We live this love through genuine welcome, relationships across generations and perspectives, and generous care. St. Matthew’s is a gathering place where names are known and everyone is welcomed as they are, enlivening the hospitality of Jesus.

Whether you’ve been Episcopalian your whole life or have never set foot in a church, you are welcome here. We know visiting a new place can feel a little intimidating—we’ve all been there too. You’re invited to join us in person, but if you’d prefer to get to know us first, you can always catch our Sunday morning live stream or browse past services on our YouTube channel.

  • Sundays at 9:30 AM
    Our Sunday worship follows the Episcopal tradition of beautiful liturgy, sacred music, and meaningful preaching. Services typically last about an hour and include Holy Communion. All are welcome to participate.

    Not ready to visit in person? That’s okay! You can join us live on Sundays at 9:30 AM on ourYouTube channel, or watch past services any time. Whether you’re nearby or far away, we’re glad to worship with you.

    What to Expect:

    • Come as you are—some dress casually, others more formally.

    • Children are always welcome in worship, and we also have childcare and children’s chapel available.

    • Music includes traditional hymns with choir and organ.

    • You’re invited to stay for coffee and conversation after the service.

    • The first Sunday of the month is Youth Sunday and features the St. Matthew’s Band. Children and youth take on leadership roles and we enjoy more contemporary music.

    During the Service:

    • Make yourself comfortable! We hope that you will easily connect with God through the prayers, music, and communion.

    • Follow along with the bulletin, if you need anything ask your neighbor in the pew. We’re happy to help.

    • Eucharist, or Communion, is the act of participating in taking the bread and wine. This is important to us as a way of re-membering ourselves to Christ and one another. 

      • All are welcome to receive communion at St. Matthew’s. 

      • We have gluten-free wafers. 

      • If you would like to come forward to receive a blessing (but refrain from the bread and wine) we encourage you to do so. Rev. Amy offers a lovely blessing.

    Parking:
    We have a public parking lot at our parish, just outside the church. Parking is also available in the nearby parking lots and street parking in the neighborhood. Accessible parking is available on the west side, and the building is fully accessible.

    Arriving: Rev. Amy or a greeter will be outside to welcome you as soon as you arrive, just go to the red door.

    An usher will give you a bulletin for following along in the service, and point you in the direction of the sanctuary.

  • Children are a cherished part of our church family!

    On the first Sunday of each month, children and youth take on worship leadership roles—serving as greeters, readers, and more. Youth and children also serve regularly as acolytes. We value their presence and participation in every aspect of church life.

    • Children’s Chapel begins at 9:15 AM and is offered for younger children (ages 5–10).

    • Nursery care is available for infants and toddlers.

    • Activity bags are available for children who wish to stay in the pews.

    We welcome wiggles, giggles, and all the joyful noise that comes with young ones!

    Youth Formation (ages 12–17) meets for faith formation starting at 9:15 AM, and gathers again after the service for fun, games, and connection. For a detailed schedule, reach out to Rev. Amy—we’d love to get you connected.

    FIND COMMUNITY

  • Most of our congregation was not born into The Episcopal Church. We came to it, drawn by the beauty of liturgical worship, the encouragement of hard questions, or the commitment to helping those in need. We are a diverse church, united in common prayer and in our commitment to "seek and serve Christ in all persons."

    The mission of the Episcopal Church is "to restore all people to unity with God and each other in Christ." At St. Matthew's, we strive to do this in many ways. The Episcopal Church draws from both the Protestant and Catholic traditions.
